The Penn State Alumni Association

What’s been happening:

After graduation in 1979 I went to Cal Tech (Pasadena, CA) for graduate school. I received my PhD in Aeronautics in 1984, and then joined the faculty of Penn State's Mechanical Engineering Department (now Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering). In 1993-4 I took a sabbatical leave to work at NASA Langley (Hampton, VA) to enhance my CFD skills. In addition to teaching and research, I have co-authored several textbooks. In 1980 I married Suzy, my college sweetheart. We have two sons, Andy and Luke, and have lived in the same house in Pennsylvania Furnace (near State College) since July of 1984. I still like to swim and to play pool and racquetball; I have managed to stay in fairly good physical condition. The most important thing about me is that I am a Christian, a devoted follower of Jesus Christ. I study the Bible daily and occasionally give lectures to churches or campus student groups on the topic of the Bible and science, and creation versus evolution. I am active in my church, teaching Sunday School and serving on various committees. I love to hear from old friends - e-mail me at jmc6@psu.edu.
